Well that’s it for the 2015/16 season at the Kalgoorlie Case & Drill Inernational Speedway.

The Season Grand Opening Night saw the Amca Nationals compete in a new event, the Amca Golden mile challenge. Drivers from Esperance, Narrogin Headed to Kal to kick the season of. Aaron Hancock won the Golden Mile challenge ahead of Glenn Foirenza and Greg Horan. Fireworks also lit the sky up to welcome the new season which was going to be a big one.

The annual Bridgestone Production Sedan challenge which was generally held in the 2nd half of the season was brought forward to the start. With driver coming from Perth, Esperance …. It was a star studded night with action a plenty. Rick Mussarra changed to the front and won ahead of Tim Green and Kane McDirmate

Ground Maters StreetStock stocktober Once again put on a brilliant show. With driver who hasn’t raced at Kal in a streetie came and joined in on the fun. But home Favourit Jack Barnewall proved he was as good as those before him & finally took a feature Win and being the 2015 Stocktober Winner ahead of Drew Ogle and David Padmore

For the first time in a while we hosted a Wednesday night race, where we played host to the Pro Speed Car week (PSW).
And what a show the Speedcars put on. Drivers from Australia and American took to the red dirt track and showed the Goldfields crowd just how good and quick these little machines are.

The V8 Dirt modifieds race was cancelled due to the fires that deviated the Esperance region and in a bid to help the club supplied water and proved assistance where needed. We hope to see the V8 Dirt Modifieds make a trip to Kal in the 2016/17 season.

With rain on the way and sure enough it poured down it was uncertain if the Late Models would be able to put on a show. But the awesome track crew worked hard after the down pour and got the track ready! With a late start to the schedule the late models took to the track with a feature race that was one to watch. New comer Kye Blight who previously races Modified Sedans took the charge to the front wining the round 6 in Kalgoorlie ahead of Warren Oldfield and Jay Cardy

Our Local Limited Sprintcar Driver Tim Davis was able to bring the Limited Sprintcar boys to the Goldfields  for the first time in a long time. And boy oh boy did they put on a show! Pushing it to the limit they went as high as they could go on the track making it one you shouldn’t have missed. But local Peddler Tim Davis just proved his home track is his and took the win ahead Anthony Dye and brother Gavin Davis

After the xmas break it was back into the racing for the 2nd half of the 2015/16 season.

Super Mods where first up with a few of the normal drivers that raced not taking part. Keen racer Deven Edwards made the big trek from … To race at KIS but It was King Grant Campbell Who took the win ahead of Lance Beaver And Brayden Aylmore.

Returning for the first time since 2013 an old challenge was brought back into play. The Esperance Kalgoorlie Challenge where we saw Esperance take on Kalgoorlie. The first challenge took place in Esperance with the finale being held in Kal. Esperance led after the first round but Kalgoorlie nipped the lead on points and won the over all Challenge.

The big 2 night event was knocking at our door with the Amca National State Title which had big numbers with driver traveling from Esperance, Narrogin, Perth, and even from Victoria. But when it came down to the crunch defending champ David Boyes was showing us why he was WA1. With a feature race that went right down the the wire where we saw Tim Reidy from Vic put all the pressure he could on David Boyes but even that didn’t stop David Boyes taking the Title once again ahead of Tim Reidy (Vic) and Murray Parsons (Esp).

Also on the Saturday night the big International event the JSRA Junior Sedan Australiasian Championship where The Aus Juniors took on 6 of the choose New Zealand Ministock drivers. With a huge field of Juniors it was a night of racing you just could miss. These juniors put on a brilliant show. Driving there little cars hard into the turns and proving that they are the future of speedway.
It was the Australian Shannon Marsden Who won the championship ahead of  Travis Armstrong, Hayden Thomas, Jake Avins & Hayden Fitzpatrick

Night 2 the Amca Nationals competed in the Action Series Round with many of the drivers who suffered damage from the first night dropping out.
But this time it was the Vic boys who wanted to push it to the limit and that’s what Tim Reidy did taking the win ahead of David Boys and Jamie Collins (Vic).

The juniors once again gathered together for their 2nd night of racing where this time it was the JSRA Country Super Series. With all the juniors now split into their groups of New stars and Top Stars.
The Kiwi kids raced again and was put into the top stars group.  There was action a plenty and once again the juniors put on and awesome Night of racing.  We even had the kiwis take to the track all by themselves in a battle to see who is the best kiwi Junior on the track.
2 big nights of racing and everyone couldn’t stop taking about it.

The 2015/16 Season Grand Final night was here!

With a packed out arena there wasn’t much room left for those who drove in to park. The front straight was filled with those standing and sitting in their own camp seats to catch a bit of the action happening on the track. We congratulated the first club member to bring home a national championship who was Tim Green who won the Australian Production Sedan title becoming Australia #1.

With the AMCAs and the Juniors battling it out for the title of open club champion for their division it was a night of racing that went they quickly with hardly any stoppages. The small & yes even the big kids at the ready the Kalgoorlie Night Sky light up with the fireworks during the half time Break before the pits where open to the public for the last time for the season.

The feature races headed out onto the track with the AMCA nationals open club champ being David Boyes in front of Matt L’Hullier and Brett Morrison. Junior Sedans Open Club Champ being Dylan Parkes ahead of Jay Rees and Bradley Oldfield (Perth)

Finally the moment everyone had been waiting for the Demo Derby! Unfortunately loosing a few entries due to work commitments, cars not being up to spec or not getting their cars finished in time. But 4 eager competitors headed out to smash, bash and crush their cars up in the hope of being the last car mobile to take away the winnings and that just happened to be the good old Holden station wagon with Nappy behind the wheel and his passenger Ginge alongside him.

The 2015/16 season is now over for us at the Kalgoorlie International Speedway, however plans are under way for the 2016/17 Season already. With Plans of having 2 Demo Derbys one being at the Season Grand Opening and again at the Season finale.
